Home / About Us
KAMOS Agro Fish Farm is a Ugandan aquaculture enterprise focused on sustainable tilapia production using modern cage farming systems on Lake Victoria.
Since 2016, our mission has been to help farmers and communities view fish farming through a new lens — improving productivity, sustainability, and food security through responsible aquaculture.
Our operations follow a hatchery-to-distribution model, producing quality fingerlings and raising fish in deep-water cages to ensure healthy growth and premium fish quality.
To become a leading aquaculture farm in Uganda and the region, recognized for excellence, innovation, and environmentally responsible fish farming.
To produce high-quality, fresh tilapia through sustainable cage fish farming on Lake Victoria, while supporting local communities, creating employment, and contributing to Uganda’s food security.
Providing fair wages, supporting local economies, and creating employment opportunities.
Handling fish ethically, which includes proper care and minimizing waste.
Utilizing modern technology (e.g., automated feeding) to maximize productivity while minimizing environmental impact.
Protecting aquatic ecosystems, managing water resources responsibly, and utilizing sustainable feed sources.
Ensuring top-tier product freshness, safety, and compliance with standards from farm to table.
Operating with transparency, ethical practices, and adhering to regulatory, social, and environmental standards.
KAMOS monitors the surrounding environment regularly to ensure we are using the natural waters responsibly. As we share the waters with a huge variety of marine life in a marine habitat, we take care to not disrupt this finely balanced ecosystem. We respect the waters we work in.
We live where we work, and we are a part of our community. We value our community and the relationships within. This translates to us buying local where we can, supporting local suppliers and employing local people.
We value our people and we encourage and support them to develop their skills and attributes and make a positive contribution to not our only business but also our community.
KAMOS Agro Fish Farm was founded by Paul Kagimu on the waters of Lake Victoria at Lukonda Bay with a vision to provide sustainable, high-quality protein to the Ugandan population.
The farm operates using a “hatchery-to-distribution” model, meaning we control the entire process from breeding fingerlings to raising fish in deep-water cages and delivering fresh tilapia to the market.
The inspiration behind this approach aligns with ideas championed by development professionals like Rudi Lamprecht, who emphasized improving infrastructure, livelihoods, and environmental awareness in lakeside communities. This balance between economic development and ecological responsibility continues to guide our work.
Today, KAMOS Agro Fish Farm is not only producing fish but also contributing to food security, job creation, and sustainable aquaculture practices in Uganda.
